We've stayed in scores of self catering and this was beautiful, comfortable warm homely haven is the BEST. No need to even go anywhere, fill up the feeder and enjoy the nature, see the stars, listen to the symphony of the birds. All the windows mean the serenity of nature with you all the time. Lee and John have provided all the extra touches to make this a brilliant home and hard place to leave! Thank you (definitely coming back!)

Had an excellent couple of days! The views were absolutely breathtaking and there was lots of things to do within the local vicinity and the town was only about a half an hour drive away!

Fantastic stay in the beautiful Ysgubor. Needed a relaxing week after Christmas and it provided just that. Lee was lovely and we all agreed that we could've stayed there for much longer. High praise from my 9 year right up to 85 year old grandparents! Really hope we can return in the future.

If you like peaceful countryside, then you must come here. The home is comfortable, cosy and very well equipped, and the views out the windows will have you breathing deeply and relaxing in no time. Lee is a very considerate and helpful host, with a lovely sense of humour too. Our two dogs were welcomed and we all had wonderful walks out the gate and up the track. Ask Lee for directions to the old slate quarry and forestry track for a lovely ramble to enjoy with dogs. All the locals are friendly too, from the little supermarket to the local Michelin star pub and the riverside farm shop and cafe. And of course, mid Wales is full of wonderful things to do. Don't miss the starling mumeration at Aberystwyth at dusk. Absolutely extraordinary!

Absolutely gorgeous cottage! Our family has stayed in a few cottages in the UK and this has to be our favourite! Beautiful finishes, amazing views (especially from the the top at night looking at the stars) and Lee has thought of everything around the cottage. Wifi super fast so the kids could still have their one-hour of tablet time! Loved our time here, our walks and excursions to local attractions, but the cottage itself holds such great memories for us, wish it had been longer!

Just leaving this magical place and feeling like we needed another week there, at least, to make the most of the beautiful accommodation and stunning part of Wales. The cottage itself was incredibly well-stocked and fitted to a very high standard and had everything we needed for our two young children and 3 adults who love their food! Beds were also super comfortable and garden was a delight with amazing views and a hive of activity for local wildlife. Thank you John and Lee for making our stay so lovely

How have we managed to neglect visiting this delightful part of Wales? The valley walk from Ty'n Cornel is breathtakingly beautiful as well as providing an exciting car journey for the last two miles. Ysgubor cottage is the perfect place to return to after a day of walking. Is there a better reading room than the mezzanine lounge? Wow, top class!!

I can't recommend this holiday let highly enough - brilliant owners, perfect communications, beautiful building and an amazingly well equipped kitchen.

We loved staying here and will be back. A bird watching, star gazing, cyclist heaven!

From start to finish this is the best experience we have had. Lee was amazing with communication from the off, with quick responses and some great tips.The barn is delightful with great touches everywhere and the best equipped kitchen we've ever stayed in. The food at the Talbot pub in Tregaron was exceptional. Stunning scenery everywhere to cap it off.

Stay here and you will have an amazing time.

Perfect countryside retreat with amazing views. Everything was as expected and more. Very eco-aware. Great communication. Everything was set up ready for our toddler, including cot, bath, nappy bin. Would definitely book again.

The setting of the cottage was very idilic set in the Cambrian mountains. Unfortunately when we were there the weather was horrendous, but it didn’t effect our stay. We would highly recommend to couples or families. Lee & John were very good hosts and made the welcome very inviting. Loved the welcome gifts and our dog 🐶 loved the biscuits you left. Thank you.

Delightful and very well-equipped cottage with stunning views. Sitting in the Mezzanine reading and watching the weather, the Red Kites and other wild life became our favourite activity. Lee and John were excellent hosts, very helpful and accommodating with great communication before arriving. We will be back.

Lee was a very accommodating host - she even mowed a strip in the field for my cricket mad boys to play cricket. They loved it!

Long awaited family get-together with 3 year tins, parents and grandparents. Ysgubor was perfect in situation & facilities & the Welsh weather even kind enough to allow 2 bbq's. The twins loved it all, particularly the wildlife and fresh air. We will be back!

Half term week. What an amazing house and location. Memorable sunsets from the 'upper' sitting room which I would love to pick up and take home with me. So many peaceful, local beautiful walks from the house. The cliffs south of new Quay, so many dolphins to spot.

Ysgubor makes an excellent introduction to the Cambrian Mountains due to to the location and amusing wildlife ie lambs gambolling and varied birds visiting. There are excellent walks directly from the property and it's well situated for visiting various local areas of interest ie Cors caron. Saw a pine marten at The Hafod. No luck yet with the red squirrel but maybe next time!

Our second time here at this immaculate property. Typical May weather - sleet, hail, snow and some lovely sunshine made for an interesting and relaxing week. The leaping lambs in the field were an added bonus. Many thanks for the welcome goodies

Lovely, comfortable base to visit family after 12 months apart. Very relaxing, beautiful part of the country. Well needed change of scene. Didn't watch any tv, too busy watching the birds, lambs and red squirrel. Amazing swim at waterfall by 'remote telephone box' on mountain road, worth a drive, fabulous views

Thank you both. We've had a wonderful stay here at your barn. The barn itself was perfect for us. It was lovely and comfortable, extremely well equipped and has amazing views. I could quite happily wake up here every morning. We've been lucky to have some lovely sunny days. We've played lots of games together in the garden and have been on some lovely walks straight from the barn and met all the lovely animals on the way. The children loved these 'adventures'. The barn itself is well situated for some trips out too. We visited Cors Caron nature reserve, New Quay beach, Aberaeron, Llanrhysted beach and the local play park all of which were thoroughly enjoyed. We've loved having the sheep as 'neighbours' and the children have loved being on 'lamb watch' and using the binoculars. We've had a fantastic stay and look forward to coming back. Big thanks to Lee for letting the children collect eggs off the chickens every morning. You've made 2 very happy children. Thanks

We spent another week at Ygusbor in August 2020, which is our fourth visit to this utterly idyllic holiday cottage in Tregaron. Ygusbor is finished to a very high standard with brand new sofas, reclining chairs, nice stone flooring throughout. It includes a beautiful open plan kitchen, which has all the essentials - it's a home away from home! The absolute best feature of Ygusbor is the uninterrupted views across Ceredigion, especially from the mezzanine room at the front of the property. You could quite easily relax in the reclining chairs and waste hours drinking that view! The cottage is spotless and always cleaned to a professional standard whenever we have visited. We hope to return again very soon.

Ysgubur is a wonderful holiday home, set in beautiful countryside and blessed with stunning views from the house and lovely garden. We found it well placed to explore the many attractions this pretty part of Wales has to offer, with great walks nearby as well as enjoying trips to the coast. The house well immaculately presented and our lovely host Lee was very helpful. Thoughtful touches, like seed for the bird-table, enhanced the tranquility of the garden and brought us great pleasure watching a variety of birds enjoying the treats! We would happily recommend booking this property.”

Ysgubor was everything we wanted for our first post-lockdown family getaway. The cottage is stylish, beautifully decorated, clean and has all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. There’s even decent sized glasses and sharp cooking knives (two of my bugbears with holiday lets!). Lee and John are very quick to respond to messages and are perfect hosts. If you’re looking for something close to the action then consider staying elsewhere. We were after peace and tranquility in a rural setting and Ysgubor delivers in spades! The views from the mezzanine lounge in the cottage are fantastic, best enjoyed with a glass of something in hand. I can recommend the spectacular national showcaves (about 90 mins away) which were great on a rainy day - of which West Wales is not short of course. We also visited Elan Valley to marvel at the beautiful scenery and impressive dams on the reservoirs. I would recommend staying here to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the Welsh countryside. We shall return!

A well equipped, comfortable cottage in a beautiful secluded spot with lovely views. The upstairs living area is the perfect place to sit and read on a rainy day and for watching the red kites and buzzards soaring above the valley in better weather.

Beautiful barn with stunning views. Tregaron is walkable from the barn, and the owners have details of lots of walks around the area. The barn itself is equipped with everything you could want, beautiful bathrooms, comfy sofas and beds. Can't fault it at all and will definitely go back!

The perfect holiday cottage in the perfect location! We searched high and low for a peaceful place in gorgeous Wales and we found it! Due to both our boys being rescue dogs and our youngest one still very nervous of strangers both Lee & John respected that and gave us privacy which made our week very relaxing for us and the dogs. The cottage had everything needed for a comfortable stay and cosy evenings in after adventure filled days exploring. The quality of the bedding, comfortable firm bed and facilities were excellent. The Hamper breakfast included warmed croissants and freshly cooked bacon rolls which were great. The bedroom suite had fantastic views and a beautiful garden to enjoy.

Breakfast and hosts were superb. Very dog friendly and full use of a field was available. The views were lovely with lots of wildlife as well.

Lovely B&B, nice people, dog friendly, great place to stay. The large windows in the room look out over the garden and the valley. Lots of birdlife and stunning views at breakfast time. A bit like sitting in your own, private bird hide, but warmer and very comfortable. Good quality bed and comfy mattress and everything was clean and well cared for. What a lovely place to stay - couldn't fault it. Highly recommended

Just back from a winter break at Ysgubor. I have often done the same elsewhere and can with some authority say that this is one of the best. Stunning views, well equipped house, warm everywhere. The glass gallery room is a particular plus. The hosts are helpful, friendly and enthusiastic about their area. Stay! You won't be disappointed!

A truly beautiful place with amazing views. Stylish design, lots of space/light and plenty of picture windows to enjoy the scenery from yet still cozy for the evenings. The choice of lounges is a wonderful bonus and the stars we’re breathtaking viewed through the gallery upstairs. Beds were lovely, the house really well equipped; books, dvds and local info all thoughtfully chosen and spotlessly clean throughout. Great hosts and location is brilliant for everything from local village, towns to seaside. We felt relaxed the moment we arrived and will definitely be back!

We have visited "Ysgubor" on three separate occasions now and consider this our second home... Ysgubor and Nant yr Onnen is nestled in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains, on the edge of the quaint town of Tregaron. This picturesque property is surrounded by beautiful scenery, with access to some truly wonderful walks - ideal for dogs! The cottage decor and furniture is to an extremely high standard, with the owners Lee and John conscientiously making sure cleanliness of the property is meticulous.. We love the 'homely' feel of the property, garden and it's location and wish we could live there permanently. Thanks Lee and John for always being accommodating to us...

My family and I had a lovely time staying here in the gorgeous, spacious old barn . Well equipped and very comfortable. John and Lorilee were very helpful and easygoing.The lovely small town of Tregaron is within walking distance if you need the shops ( or a pub ) . Relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings that nature can provide. A+.

Greeted with a warm welcome from the owner into this wonderful, relaxing property. Although the weather was poor throughout our stay, it was cozy, homely and well equipped inside. This included a good size LCD TV, always a must when the weather is poor. The internet connection, although not speedy, was fine for emailing. Everything was laid out logically, good kitchen equipment and adequate dining area. The main attraction, for us, the mezzanine in which to relax, read, watch the clouds go by or even watch shooting stars at night through the huge roof windows. This property is one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. Plenty of wildlife - literally on the doorstep - and amazing views! Very highly recommended - looking forward to our next visit.

The cottage was absolutely superb. It was of a very high standard, commanding fantastic views and ideally placed to explore mid Wales. Lee and John were the perfect hosts, informative, helpful but to not intrusive. We would definitely recommend the cottage and seriously considering booking for next year.

Great location for exploring! Brilliant views and fantastic weather all week. Holiday home was immaculate and very well equipped. John and Lee were both very friendly and welcoming. Definitely will be coming back again!

This is an absolute gem of a cottage - not so much a cottage but a deceptively large property which the photographs do not do justice to the space. The different areas are really useful to provide relaxation for different activities, the upstairs gallery area is a must for a quiet read and star gazing! The garden is spacious and enclosed for pets. The owners do live next door and provide support, guidance and advice, they are very friendly. Watch out for baby hedgehogs and please advise Lee if you find one particularly now - we did and it was rescued and made safe with 2 of its siblings. There is so much to do in the area but do be prepared to travel about an hour to everywhere - a must do is Devils Bridge, watching dolphins in New Quay, the costal villages and towns, so much! Would not hesitate to stay again and would recommend for couples, families, friends and pets alike.

Delightful B&B
We spent four nights in this fabulous B&B. Having mobility issues I’m always a little concerned about whether the venue will meet my requirements. Having spoken beforehand I was reassured and wasn’t disappointed. Entry through double French doors with a small step was fine. The room was large enough to move about in easily with a walking frame and the shower over the bath was perfect used in conjunction with a bath board and portable grab handle which I took with me. Having breakfast served in the room was perfect for me and what a breakfast! I’ll miss that basket of goodies! Spotlessly clean and a beautiful setting made this the perfect getaway.The hosts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you both for a perfect relaxing break.

A modern spacious room with beautiful views in an extremely peaceful location. The breakfast basket had plenty of choices with fresh fruit and freshly cooked croissants. All very tasty. Would definitely visit again.

Host Lee was lovely and had great tips for walks and eating. The location is so beautiful and peaceful... Such a pleasure to watch the birds in the garden with the woods and mountains beyond. There's a pretty footpath down the valley to Tregaron if you want to visit the local pub for dinner (20 mins walk)

What a hidden gem this place is! Absolutely stunning views from the room and garden. Lee and John are welcoming and really lovely people. Every detail was thought about. Winston even had some doggy treats on arrival with a towel (which we had forgotten!)
The room was spacious, pristine and very nicely decorated. The breakfast is amazing!

We had a lovely week away at this property, the owners were very friendly and helpful. The views from the cottage were spectacular. We visited lots of dog friendly beaches, pubs. The Dani Chinese in Tregaron was delicious even in my brothers eyes as he is very well educated with the Chinese heritage. The sculpture place and blanket shop are also worth visiting. (Take your money as your bound to see something) we did.

The view was spectacular and our hosts made a tremendous fuss of our pups. They were very kind and attentive and the breakfast basket is a fabulous idea, particularly for those who struggle with being sociable first thing in the morning! We were very impressed with the cleanliness of everything, plus the decor was very tasteful and made the stay almost spa-like in atmosphere.

Fantastic house with amazing views. Perfect for extended family as we didn't hear our granddaughter ( 6 months old) crying in the night!

This was a beautiful room, large, well equipped, space both for sleeping and dining with a stunning view over to local valley and mountain. The owner was very helpful but not intrusive. The breakfast was very good and was sourced from local produce. From my bed, through a very large picture window I saw a stunning sunset. It was a very good place to be.

We have had the most relaxing half term in the barn. Even though it rained quite a lot we didn't mind as the views were magnificent. The children loved watching the birds and our dogs had great fun running in the field. Thank you, we hope to return again one day!

Accommodation was lovely, clean and the welcome pack of milk and tea, not forgetting cake and even a treat for Bess our Westie was really appreciated and a nice touch. A beautiful B&B tucked away in the peaceful Welsh countryside......
The welcome from Lee & John was so friendly, they were excellent hosts & provided everything we could need or want, (including a treat for our two little dogs). The room was bright and airy, with plenty of space and had access out onto a lovely private garden overlooking a field with a brook. The breakfast was really lovely served in our room overlooking the garden.

Absolutely fabulous Cottage retreat. A week of peace and tranquillity, just the tonic to take away the trauma of the rat race. Superb cottage with everything you would ever need, immaculately kept. Amazing views all round, daytime and night time with some incredible sunsets. Very dog friendly. Brilliant location with some of the best roads and scenery anywhere in the UK. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful greeting on our arrival from Lee who showed us to our lovely room it was very clean and had a fantastic view from the bedroom window the wildlife too was fascinating Lee herself was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area which highlighted our interest. Everything we needed was supplied in the room. We felt we were made to feel special and as for breakfast we have never eaten so much in the morning we had so much to choose from. Hope to visit again time permitting...in the mean time we are letting others know about this lovely couple Lee and John and the accommodation which made our stay wonderful. Thank you!

We could not have asked for anything more to make our stay more enjoyable and relaxing. The room was incredibly comfortable, with a delicious breakfast each morning, and the owners were a joy to bump into for a chat. We enjoyed our day trips to Nant Yr Arian, Cadair Idris, Cambrian Mountains and The Black Mountain. We would advise all who are able to stay here, to do so.

Pros: The quiet, fabulous breakfast, large room size....no walking sideways! Sheep grazing just outside the huge picture window. Friendly hosts.

We've had an amazing week here in Ysgubor. thank you to both of you for providing such a useful information pack & a property which is a joy to stay in. The wonderful views. peace and quiet & level of overall comfort would take some beating. We have had many self catering holidays over the years but this 'tops the bill'! What a wonderful cottage in such a lovely, peaceful location! Was lovely to watch the sheep and lambs in the field every day! Cottage had everything you could need, couldn't fault it. The aspect of the room in a country setting was a lovely surprise. The bed was very comfortable and everything was extremely clean. Lee was very friendly and attentive particularly to coeliac g/f needs of one guest. Great area for walks and access very immediate.

We had a lovely time! The cottage is nice and cosy and we were super lucky with the weather. Had lots of nice walks in the sun and had a great time overall!!
